Manifesto is a magazine designed and published for the library of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) School of Art, Design & Media (ADM). The target audience of Manifesto are student, staff and other stakeholders of ADM.

The theme for this issue is process and cycle. Therefore, this issue examines processes, sketches and other behind-the-scenes footage of numerous works done by students from ADM. Additionally, this issue also features article depicting the complete design process of research, execution, presentation, critique and submission.

Members of the editorial team generate and share the same pool of content and resources. Subsequently, each member conceptualizes, design the layout and oversee the production of individual version of the articles. The result is a common magazine issue with 5 different façades.

Singapore Design Festival 2009: Beyond Typography – Singapore Pangram

"traffic pangram" is a collaboration with Bi Xia, Cheng Guan and Daven.

This pangram installation is inspired by traffic signs. Road users are exposed to many of these signs daily and are likely to examine them when stuck in a traffic jam. To ease the frustration one might get in a jam; this installation has manipulated traffic signs in a playful manner to fit the pangram.

The pangram is to be read from right to left, like the flow of traffic in Singapore. Choice of font (Eurostile deconstruct) used is kept simple yet distinctive, creating interesting visuals both on its own and designed as a sign. The signs are printed on the same materials as actual traffic signs, hence producing the reflective effect. For best result, take a photo of this installation in flash mode to see the effect.

Finding JoJo

"2D Design & Colour 2" showcase

"Finding JoJo" is a collaboration with Tan Zhong Hong for the subject "2D Design & Colour 2". It is a tribute to JoJo, my neighbour's pet dog.

This experimental art publication opens up in an anti-clockwise direction to tell the narrative of finding JoJo. Techniques used include lino print, mono print, thinner transfer and painting on mixed media comprising paper, wood and fabric.

"Finding JoJo" is selected by Assistant Professor Karen Hong as a showcase to our juniors.
